usb mouse won't work
ok...my win2k drive crashed, and I had a dual boot system. My second drive was my slack 9.1. drive. I set it to master, and booted off the slack 9.1 cd. I ran "reconfigure my slackware system" from the setup menu. I did this to write lilo to the mbr on my first drive. Well..I was in a hurry, and tabbed through or cancelled out of the rest of the setup options. Now, my mouse won't work. It is a usb mouse, and I have had no problems with it before. I boot off my drive fine, and even selected usb mouse from mouse config. I get the message "/dev/mouse no such device when booting" I have read every thread I could find about a usb mouse. I am stumped.
here is what I get from dmesg | grep mouse :
mice: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice
Is it a link problem with /dev/mouse? How can I tell what /dev/mouse is linked to? I made sure usb mouse legacy support was disabled in my bios. I have recompiled my kernel twice now, and made sure the input stuff and usb mods were all there. .config looks good....When I try modprobe usbmouse..it still doesn't work. Help!!!!
