usb keyboard not detected


Hi slackware wont detect my USB keyboard so i cant login at a prompt to load a module? How can i fix this?

Is it being picked up before the os boots, like in:
can you pass parameters to the kernel on the
lilo prompt?

yes the keyboard is detected and works in other OS's and i can choose the OS at boot with it.. just cant log in with it.. so slack isnt seeing it

This sounds a bit radical, but does it
get picked up if you unplug/replug it?

No it does not. Weird i know. Pherhaps slackware just doesnt like the usbkeyboard? When lilo uses it to pick an OS its still using a BIOS enabled thing correct? bec the kernel hasnt been loaded yet

That's correct ... unfortunately I have never
used a USB keyboard, so have no experience
with those bastards ... I recall, though, that there
are special kernels for booting machines with
USB support ... maybe you should try to install
one of those?
