USB error messages during boot
I'm running Slackware -current. I upgraded to kernel 2.6.16.1 a couple of weeks ago, and ever since then I keep getting usb error messages during the boot. An example from /var/log/syslog:
Code:
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: acpi_bus-0201 [01] bus_set_power : Device is not power manageable
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: acpi_bus-0201 [01] bus_set_power : Device is not power manageable
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: usb 4-1: can't set config #1, error -84
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: usb 4-1: can't set config #1, error -110
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom last message repeated 3 times
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: usb 4-1: device not accepting address 7, error -110
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: usb 4-1: device not accepting address 8, error -110
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: can't set desired altsetting 0 on interface 0
Apr 22 17:04:15 computerroom kernel: usblp: probe of 4-2:1.0 failed with error -5
I upgraded to kernel 2.6.16.9 today, but the error messages still appear during boot up. Most of my USB devices (scanner, printer, mouse, iPod, etc.) still seem to work; although my Polar USB Infra-Red interface doesn't work when I try to use it. Perhaps that is what these error messages are all about?
Does anybody know what is wrong and how I fix this?
