you can use slackpkg to help you on this one
point your repository to Slackware 14.0 and ran
Code:
slackpkg update
slackpkg install-new
slackpkg upgrade-all
slackpkg clean-system
this should give you a proper Slackware 14.0 system

If you want detailed information and instructions about upgrading Slackware to a new release, you should definitely read http://docs.slackware.com/howtos:sla...:systemupgrade

Thank you also Bob I skimmed thru it & I think I'll spend a little more time reading the link. Like I said this 1 is just a VM so I'm just doing it for the learning experience. I also read how to do it from cd. but wanted to pull in the packages.
