upgrade 2.4.29 to 2.6.11 problem

hi ,

i have a problem with my slackware 10.1.

i want to upgrade my kernel

my symbolic link "linux" is on /usr/src -> /usr/src/linux-2.6.11/

before make menuconfig , i do make clean && make mrproper

and after , i built network , vesa ( how to active vesafb ? lilo.conf ?) , and built raid and raid 1

i save my configuration && exit menuconfig

Code:
make dep && make clean && make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install
and by chance i see compilation error , segmentation default :'(

and the compiling was stop

can you help me ?

(i have do this on my slack 10.1 at home , no problem.......)

Thank's

Make dep is not required in 2.6 kernels
You activate vesafb with givin vga=xxx option in lilo or grub conf and you can
refine it with append="video=vesa:ywrap, mtrr" (for lilo conf) or add this to the
boot kernel line in grub conf.

At a first attempt, just do ' make ' without label after configure the kernel, see
what happen
