Updating realy Old custom Kernel
Hi! We have an old Slackware machine that acts as a firewall, router, gateway, etc.. It is Slackware 8.0 with a custom 2.4.5 Linux kernel.
We want to update our system to 2.4.37 or something like that to use new features like file systems, etc..
The question is: should we start with the old 2.4.5 .config file for "make menuconfig" or should we start a fresh one? If we start with the old .config, we lose any functionality (or configuration capability) of the new kernel?
Thanks in advance.
Martin.
