updatedb -c What is the -c option?

I note that the /etc/cron.daily/slocate script reads

Code:
/usr/bin/updatedb -c /etc/updatedb.conf
yet man updatedb does not show a -c option.

What does -c do?

Read here about the usage of the configuration file updatedb.conf.

Cheers

updatedb is simply a link to slocate that implies the -u option.

So the answer is in 'man slocate':
Code:
-c
Parse '/etc/updatedb.conf' when updating the slocate database. (see CONFIGURATION FILE below).
