Ubuntu One

Is it possible to use Ubuntu One in Slackware?

Ubuntu put a lot of money to make sure everyone uses its system. Services like this is a way to get money back from the wide users base they now have. This is very different from Slackware philosophy and I don't see the point in mixing the two.

I access my Ubuntu one account from Puppy and Antix. But. I had to set up a ubuntu one account first with my Ubuntu Box.

If wanting a free cloud storage for Slackware or ANY other Linux distro. I use

http://minus.com/

I like it better than Ubuntu one.

I don't know much about it, but seems the client app is GPL and written in Python, so AFAICT no reason it couldn't be installed on Slack.

Ok, thank you.
I'm using Ubuntu right now, but I'm thinking about changing to Slackware. I like the free cloud because it's safe for my most important files, but if I can use it from Slackware as well I'll go Slackware that's for sure.

So thank you for your help and have a nice day :)

Dropbox, http://www.dropbox.com/, works well with Slackware, they start off with 2GB free and alienbob has a build for you:

http://connie.slackware.com/~alien/s...ropbox-client/

It also runs on many other Linux distributions (including ubuntu) as well as Windows so you can mix and match.
