I'm not worried about the DVD thing, I just want to play audio cds and burn cd's.

I think you still have to get the key since you're writer (while able to wite cds) is technically a dvd burner... I'm not 100% on that though so hopefully someone will step in that is closer to 100% than I am

After reading that it almost looks like the key is more for commecial use and for extreme circumstances surrounding hardware.

Anyhow, I'm going to try google and search LQ some more.

Thanks everybody. I'll e-mail him about the key in a second. I just did a re-install and used the scsi.s kernel on the first cd and it plays audio cds now. Still won't burn though, I'm hoping that the key will take care of that.
