sorry Niki, I don't know if I have understood what you are asking: is your client using a specific terminal server software?
because usually windows terminal services are offered through the RDP protocol and Slackware already ships the rdesktop client, but there's also remmina on SBo...
I have good experiences with freerdp. It can authenticate with Windows server 2012 on the highest security settings. With rdesktop and krdc we had to change the Windows settings, otherwise I couldn't connect from Linux.
And here goes another Slackware installation in a professional environment. Yesterday I arrived at the client's company in Clermont-Ferrand. I was in for quite a surprise, because I expected some small local business, with my contact guy being the local admin. In fact, my contact is the CEO of the company, which counts 1.200 employees. Wow.
We went to one of the offices, and replaced one of the Windows XP desktops by my custom-made Slackware+Xfce+Remmina TSE client. An afternoon went by testing and fine-tuning this first prototype, until everything worked as expected. I had lit an extra candle in my village's church for the shared printer to work, which proved useful. They were quite satisfied with the results, and now they want to use it in production for three or four weeks, before they order two dozen more of these "for a start".

I am always intrigued by the stories you share. Although I am convinced Slackware is plausible for many small business owners, I don't recall you much mentioning the app side. Specifically, the well-known thorns known as Quicken/QuickBooks and Microsoft Office. I imagine that a businesss owner somewhat familiar with software who does not have mission critical needs for MS Office file compatibility can transition to OpenOffice/LibreOffice, but I struggle to see many owners making any transition at all away from Quicken/Quickbooks. Possibly in Europe or France that dependency is not as wide as in North America.
Quicken/Quickbooks is the biggest obstacle I enounter every time I evaluate starting my own support business. Yes, a VM can circumvent that requirement but the immediate counter argument is when the owner has to run Windows in a VM to run one app then why not just keep running Windows altogether?
Yet even when one gets past the Quicken/Quickbooks obstacle, many small business owners use vertical software that is available only for Windows. Recently I ran into that exact challenge. I could not provide any kind of easy transition away from the vertical software. The owner spent a few thousand dollars updating to Windows 7 and the latest version of the software they use.
