Trying to upgradepkg mdadm
On my 10.2 Slackware install, the command 'mdadm --version' returns v2.1. I tried to upgrade this (the procedure seemed so trivial).
1. I downloaded mdadm-2.5.3.tgz 2. I renamed mdadm-2.5.3.tgz to mdadm.tgz 3. I ran 'upgradepkg --verbose mdadm' This removed mdadm 2.1 from my system, but failed to install v2.5.3. I tried 'installpkg mdadm.tgz' then, but it just copied the files to /mdadm-2.5.3/, but mdadm is still not working. How does one upgrade packages in Slackware without breaking things? |
Am I stupid or what?
Code:
tar zxvf mdadm-2.5.3.tgz |
