Truecrypt cannot see encrypted USB drive

Connecting the encrypted USB HDD adds device /dev/sdc.

From the command line, attempts to mount the device end with
Quote:

Error: No such device or address:
/dev/sdc
In the GUI, /dev/sdc is not listed on the "Select device..." list.

I have successfully mounted this USB HDD using Truecrypt on Ubuntu 12.10 on this dual-boot computer.

Any ideas what additional configuration might be required?

(Slackware 14 64-bit, TrueCrypt 7.1a installed from SlackBuilds.org)

Are you sure it is /dev/sdc on slack? What does it show in your syslog when you plug in the USB device.

In the GUI, /dev/sdc is not listed on the "Select device..." list.

Run
Code:

ls /dev/sd*
and check the output, your device is most likely named differently.
