trouble with lilo need help badly


no matter what i changed lilo conf to be it always show the same stuff

Windows
hda2 (wtf is that suppose to be)
Linux

Problem one it won;t boot into windows
2. hda2? y is it in there?
3. no matter what i change the lilo log to, when it boot it always show the same crap. I change linux label to slackware, but when i reboot, it shows linux

are you re-writing lilo after the lilo.conf change? ( it's not like grub, where you just change the conf file and everything else is automatic, you have to re-run /sbin/lilo after changing the config file for the changes to take effect).

how do i do that???

just type /sbin/lilo in console>>>???

Log as root and type: /sbin/lilo
or just: lilo

i get this when i type /sbin/lilo
root@ab:~# lilo

That means you can have a text message OR a bmp splash.. (comment message= line or bitmap one).

Try running: /sbin/lilo -v -v
to get a detailed log

ok i got it i deleted message = /boot/boot_message.txt
now it works
