Trouble accessing Plex - firewall issue?

I was using CentOS 7, and I had Plex installed.

I changed to Salix 14.1.

I installed Plex using the instructions here:

http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14...exmediaserver/

Everything seemed to go smoothly.

<code>
# installpkg /tmp/plexmediaserver-0.9.11.4.739_a4e710f-x86_64-1_SBo.tgz
Executing install script for plexmediaserver-0.9.11.4.739_a4e710f-x86_64-1_SBo.tgz.
Package plexmediaserver-0.9.11.4.739_a4e710f-x86_64-1_SBo.tgz installed.
</code>

I stopped, then restarted httpd. I tested it. It works.

I already have a plex account. My router is already configured to not block 32400.

When I try to go to:

http://localhost:32400/manage

I get the message that I cannot access that page.

I am guessing there must be some firewall blocking this? If so, how can I fix this?

Thanks.

First off, you're talking about Salix in a Slackware forum... I know it's based on Slackware, but it isn't the same. They have their own forum to cover their OS, whereas this is the *Official* Slackware forum. Answers here may not always apply to your distro.

Second, I'm pretty sure restarting httpd won't do anything because I HIGHLY doubt it uses the built-in apache websever. It probably uses its own. Do you actually have plex up and running? If you have just installed the package, it likely hasn't started any of its needed services. My guess is you need to run:

Code:
chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.plexmediaserver
/etc/rc.d/rc.plexmediaserver start
Also, code tags in the forum use square brackets [], not <>
