I'm optimistic that Trinity builds on 14.1 because there are Trinity team members who use bleeding edge distros, such as Arch, Mandriva, and Fedora. Thus they already have discovered and patched build issues from the bleeding edge versions of software, such as gcc, libpng, etc.
I retract my words. :(

I finally have a 14.1 partition configured. I ran into problems with cmake 2.8.12. Apparently 2.8.12 introduced some new policies and they are causing problems with Trinity. The new policies are causing problems for other developers too, as a perusal of the web indicates. There is a 2.8.12.1 release. Trinity bug report 1759 is filed against the problem. If you use Trintiy and have cmake skills, please help with this report. :)

Best of luck to those stubborn individuals who are still keeping Trinity alive. I recently went back to running my own customized Slax 6.1.2 live cd for a few things, and I STILL think KDE3 is the best desktop ever, but on my Slackware partition I'm currently running XFCE4. With Ubuntu, I like Gnome 3, but whatever I'm using, I still need those awesome KDE apps like Konqueror and Dolphin, and I've edited hundreds of videos with Kdenlive.

Given that Woodsman was able to build TDE on Slackware-14.1, I'm curious to build it against slackware64-current since I also enjoyed the KDE3 experience immensely.

I can build Trinity pre-R14 from GIT on 14.1 and 14.0 32-bit. There are no serious issues including my previous post about cmake, which is resolved. The project is now in soft freeze and in the final run toward an official R14.0.0 release.

Keep working to get Trinity on Slackware, I'd use it exclusively if it had all its features working.

I tried it years ago on other distros and there were too many features bugged, I'd like to give it another try and see if it can live up to the standard KDE3.10 set so many years ago.

I usually use other than KDE4 on my Slackware installs but since installing 14.1 I've been using KDE4 out of laziness I guess.

Please join the project. You do not need to be a coder --- just be interested. Help with bug testing, updating docs, image updates, etc., or just be a daily user who tries to help. :)

Browse the bugzilla and project etherpad to learn whether past bugs have been resolved or will be resolved for the R14.0.0 release. I have been using Trinity git for a long time. Very stable and Trinity is pretty much all I use.

I'm curious if anyone has tried building Trinity for the 64-bit version of slackware 14.1.

I want to try it, it seems challenging and fun enough to try (I am sort of a noob in this type of thing).
