touchpad stop working after kernel upgrade
 

i just did a kernel recompile but deselect a bunch of stuff that i didn't need. everythings seems to be fine but my touchpad doesn't work anymore. i went back and looked everywhere that might have to do with touchpad but couldn't fine any.i thinking its the kernel config becuase everyone else is saying that it works out of the box. i just dont know what i need to enable to get this working. been searching for this for about 3 days now.

If its a synaptics touchpad you need to build ev_dev into the kernel. 2.4 doesn't need it but 2.6 does.

i've been told that but i wasn't able to find it in the configuration any clue where to find it in the config. thanks

i was able to find INPUT_EVDEV is that the same as ev_dev
