I'm not sure if this question is necessarily particular to Slackware, but it's what I'm using and there are tons of knowledgeable answers here so hopefully someone's experienced this behavior.
Suddenly I've experienced a situation where touchpad scrolling functionality is hit or miss upon bootup.
It's pretty much that simple. I'll boot up, and the touchpad doesn't scroll. Logging out & back in doesn't fix it. Sometimes a reboot fixes it, and sometimes it takes multiple reboots.
It may be coincidence, but it seems like logging int a different window manager or desktop environment then rebooting fixes it when a simple reboot doesn't. For example if the problem is occuring when default DE is KDE, then logging into XFCE or Fluxbox, then rebooting into KDE, restores touchpad scrolling.
I've looked at some config files but can't find the answer if it's something there.
Anyone else ever experienced this and/or know of a way to keep it from happening?
