Thumbs up for the Slackware baseball hat

I've got a couple Slackware T-shirts from the slackstore, but that base-ball Slackware hat kept saying "...buy me..." :)

So I finally bought it.

I must say its a superior hat. Its 100% cotton and has a cloth strap with an infinitely adjustable slip buckle and a snap instead of the cheapo plastic one on typical hats. So if you're bald like me its really comfortable.

If you've eyeballed this hat before and hesitated at buying it, I say go for it - you won't be disappointed. :D

If baseball caps start talking to me, I'll have a session with the Emacs psychotherapist. :)

I've had one for years. Then I left it at my daughter's place in Philly a couple of weeks ago.

I'm torn between asking her to mail it to me, as it has served me well, and getting a new one.

I know! I'll do both!

I read the title as "Thumbs up for the Slackware baseball bat".

Wouldn't mind using that for percussive maintenance :D

I have the black and the blue "serious" T shirts. Both are pretty solid, especially the black one. I have put it accidentally in the dryer plenty of times, still good. :) Solid as the distro ;)

Despite my illusions, my body is shaped somewhat similar to a butternut squash. The moment my Slackware tee first graced my body my torso took on a bulk trapezoid shape, and washboard abs appeared. I was a chick magnet.

I'm concerned about the hat: does it behave in a likewise manner? Will I have a washboard chin?

cheers,

I wonder if Slackware Jackets have ever been considered?

dwblas 07-30-2012 09:39 AM

I'm getting a Slackware cap because they prevent baldness. Support Slackware, spread the rumor.

I'd be all over a jacket or two, and/or a hoodie.

But as Pat or anyone else who's undertaken such a task knows, the cost of an initial order can be overwhelming. (plus, the folks who say they'll buy often never materialize.) That being the case, if such a venture was undertaken, I'd be more-than-willing to prepay. Just sayin'....

cheers,

This. In fact, I'd get two.

Are those hats ready to wear?

Surely, if it's Slackware, shouldn't you have to assemble it yourself...

You must be thinking of the Gentoo hat.

Yes, this one just needs the brim to be curved to your liking, and the strap tightened to your head. Oh, and if there's a button on top, you can remove that, too, if you'd like.
