Add this to your ~/.fluxbox/overlay
Code:
menu.roundCorners: TopRight TopLeft BottomRight BottomLeft
window.roundCorners: TopRight TopLeft BottomRight BottomLeft
toolbar.shaped: true
While in fluxbox try this for some shadow effects
Code:
xcompmgr -c -r10 -F -f -D5 -C -o0.8 &
If you like those composite settings you can add it to your ~/.fluxbox/startup before exec fluxbox

A couple of themes that look good (to me ) at 1680x1050 are Alien (attached below) and lead. My favorite fluxbox site - http://www.tenr.de

File Type: txt Alien.tar.gz.txt (25.0 KB, 3 views)

Wide-screen, ha, who are they kidding, they're short-screen.
I'll trade horizontal space for vertical every time. I much prefer a 4x3 for anything but watching movies with. I hope they don't stop making them.

idk, wide-screen is becoming so common it's looking like it's a real possibility. I prefer a 4:3 as well but I've become used to my wide-screen LCD.

i had trouble adapting to my 19" LCD(1440x900) screen, especially when i used a 17" CRT 4:3 for such a long time, but i also have to agree with "kc3", widescreen is becoming mainstream nowadays specially among gamers.
i am too used to my LCD now, cant go back.

I actually debated a few days on this LCD. I wanted another CRT. 19-21" would have been nice. Could not find anything but 17" locally, and by the time I paid shipping and handling on a decent 21" it came to ~$300. 17" is just too small, we have a handful of these laying about that I used as a backup. Did find some $60 used/refurbished 19" monitors + $60 s&h, and a couple of $60-$80 21", never heard of the companies, or they had unfavorable reviews. My usual mail order dealers also had nothing but 17" CRTs. Saw this 22" for $130 and knew if I didn't like it the girlfriend would.

It's not just the loss of screen real estate, it's the complete subpar image quality that gets me. There's a huge difference going from 1280x1024 @ 85hz to 1680x1050 @ 60hz, and dropping the LCD to a non native resolution isn't a good idea. Same reason I've returned our Plasma and LCD flat panel TVs over the years. It's a joke these things are considered higher quality. Granted the $7,000 USD displays are nice - but come on what's a working man supposed to do?

I love my LCD too but I have a 19" 1280x1024 4:3 LCD at the moment and it suits me down to the ground. If I wish to maintain the same vertical screen size and dpi with a 16:9 aspect panel then I'm going to have to go up in size and resolution and that starts getting expensive.
