Ya know what the problem is with a thread like this? Slackware's packages are so vanilla (a fact for which I am grateful) that my Slackware desktop isn't really any different than it would be with any other OS. I'm running Slackware64 -current with alien's KDE 4.6 packages on my laptop, and Arch with KDE 4.6 from the kde-unstable repo on my desktop box. With the exception of screen dimensions, the two DEs are indistinguishable.

I use Slackware Linux since 2000 and Window Maker since 1998. I posted my Slackware desktop in the initial post of that thread. Last year I tried Arch Linux. I used it with Window Maker. I prepared myself twelve PKGBUILDs for dockable applications I use, two additional PKGBUILDs for two consecutive dockable applications, PKGBUILD for Window Maker configuration program and two PKGBUILDs for necessary libraries. In result my Arch desktop looked exactly the same as my Slackware desktop with the exception of the wallpaper. So sometimes to achieve the same results one have to do a hard work.
