To get us back on topic,
Here's my latest Openbox minimal desktop. I fancied a little colour this time.

My old WindowMaker setup is here but I've given up on windowmaker as the project seems to be dead. I still miss the dock, but Openbox is a good substitute.

If anyone can recommend a nice dock that will go well with Openbox and can be positioned down the right hand side of the screen like WindowMaker used to then I'd appreciate any recommendations as I'd like to make an Openbox version of my old windowmaker setup.

Love that background.

Would bbdock work in OpenBox? It runs in the slit in Fluxbox.

Possibly, Openbox does support dock apps, so if I can find some applauncher/task switcher app then it ought to work. I'll have a look and see.

I love this background too.
It's a fractal image I found on deviant art. It's called "Tree of Colors" and is by MooMyFire.

Yes, it will. I currently have installed and tested, works fine. Something has changed (not going), has received several warnings, but I did not notice.

I've built and installed bbdock from the slackbuild at slackbuilds.org.
(had to modify configure.ac to make "configure" detect the new libpng on current)

It seems to do what I want but I've noticed a few oddities when running under openbox, and some of the theme files I have seem to break it, but I can look into that.

Thanks guys.

I usually use the -d flag to set size.

GazL can you post details of what you changed or perhaps upload a patch and I can add it to my slackbuild when 13.1 comes out.

Yep, it just a simple search/replace and then running autoconf. Apparently the png_check_sig was one of the things that got dropped from libpng14.

Code:
...snip...
patch -p1 < $CWD/bbdock_includes.patch

# fix libpng check in autoconf
rm configure
sed -i -e "s/png_check_sig/png_sig_cmp/" configure.ac
autoconf

CFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS" \
CXXFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS" \
./configure \
  --prefix=/usr \
  --libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} \
  --sysconfdir=/etc \
  --localstatedir=/var \
  --mandir=/usr/man \
  --build=$ARCH-slackware-linux
...snip...

Here's an update on my desktop
Still running Fluxbox, except I moved the toolbar to the top and am using bbdock at the bottom, considering I multitask so much, I don't have any desktop space left to right-click on half the time xD

Hi! Sorry for my English. As for me the style is too dark. The bbdock is too wide and Firefox icon is ugly.

My good sir, your english is fine. I agree with you on the fact that bbdock is too wide and the firefox icon being ugly, but I'm too lazy to fix that. Actually, since you said something, I'll fix the firefox icon right now, and will try and fix the width problem. As for you saying the theme is too dark for you, I'd have to disagree; I love the theme to death! I'm just the dark-themed kind of person. Thank you for your comments
