What outputs do you get from conky?

Have you enabled lua scripting engine?

the output is
Code:
  conky -c start_conky
Conky: desktop window (16000a5) is subwindow of root window (2ef)
Conky: window type - normal
Conky: drawing to created window (0x5200002)
Conky: drawing to double buffer
I have no idea if lua is enabled, I never did something with conky, how can I check this

a additional problem could be that I am at work and therefore at the moment on rehl 6.5,
which looks super boring, and that's why I would like to have this.

You should have something like this (see bold text):

Code:
bash-4.2$ conky -v
Conky 1.9.0 compiled Wed Apr 30 13:24:10 CEST 2014 for Linux 3.14.2 (x86_64)

Compiled in features:

System config file: /etc/conky/conky.conf
Package library path: /usr/lib64/conky

 X11:
  * Xdamage extension
  * XDBE (double buffer extension)
  * Xft
  * ARGB visual

 Music detection:
  * Audacious
  * MPD
  * MOC

 General:
  * math
  * hddtemp
  * portmon
  * Curl
  * RSS
  * Weather (METAR)
  * Weather (XOAP)
  * wireless
  * support for IBM/Lenovo notebooks
  * config-output
  * Imlib2
  * apcupsd
  * iostats
  * ncurses
  * Lua

  Lua bindings:
   * Cairo
   * Imlib2
What DE or WM do you use? You have composite enabled? If you do not have composite enabled try change a line in "start_conky":

own_window_argb_visual yes

to

own_window_argb_visual no

Hope this help.

but I think I do something horrible wrong,
I downloaded the archive and now I have the 2 files, lua_widgets.lua start_conky in a folder
there I make conky start_conky,

I have no idea how this could shoe the calender/ clock
it contains no info, nothing,

just
Code:

number_of_physical_CPU_cores = 4

so I think I miss something

You miss to type "-c", so you should start conky like this:

conky -c start_conky

I think the 12 CPUs in this machine are to much for this script
Code:
Conky: llua_do_call: function conky_start_widgets execution failed: lua_widgets.lua:172: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'conky_value' (a nil value)
but 6 are ok

however , I like the calender, so that's the main feature for me
will see what I do with the rest

You have 12 physical cores? Or you have 6 physical cores + 6 virtual cores, temperature sensor only account the physical ones.

Im glad it worked!

6, yes, that's why I have written that it works with 6, after reading the comment :-)
thanks again fo rhelp
looks nice, I do not now where for the outer circle is, with numbers 1 > 59, there is no movement,
but that is a minor issue
