I released recently the new versions of three dockable applications for Window Maker: wminfo, wmcube, and wmSunMoon so I decided to publish here my two desktops in order to remind you about this great window manager. Window Maker is not very popular and – at the same time – it is my exclusive window manager since its premiere, that means since 1997.

The first screenshot shows my main user’s desktop. It is roughly the same as my desktop from 2011 published in the very first post from this thread. I use eleven instances of wminfo dockable application displaying different information – mainly about the system.

The second screenshot shows my secondary user’s desktop. At the top there are new dockable applications: wmSunMoon and wmcube. Then there are nine instances of wminfo – most of them display the current time or date using different conventions.

Attachment 17178

The mentioned dockable applications are available on http://slackbuilds.org and on my website (see: below).

Very nice and yes, I caught the pulseaudio joke. <Big Grin>. I'm wondering if the sequences I see with differing icons are a usage ok KDE's Activities feature?

WM really does have the best-looking window decorations. White on black looks so natural and solid, too. Used to be my WM of choice before I gave up on decorations.

White on black, Perseus and Salt. The fish must be zebras? ;)

But Lem was never black and white!

Oчень хорошо!

In fact it is not white on black but silver on black because I used in those dockable applications the shade of gray called “silver” (#C0C0C0). You do not have to stay with the shades of gray. The wminfo allows you to use any colors you like. The wmcube allows to use seven different color schemes including the gray one. The wmSunMoon allows to use either colorful or gray scheme.

I updated the Russian keyboard layout and moved it to its own thread: Russian keyboard layout for the American keyboard .

Pretty simple Fluxbox. I use a custom compiled Fluxbox without toolbar, using tint2 instead.

Thank you Sir!

Pretty vanilla KDE config. I tend to keep it pretty simple for work flow. I am also thinking about if I can make a tiling WM work well with dual monitors.

OK, this is COMPLETELY off-topic... In the 90, we grew up with this dude. Graduated, if you know what I mean (no diploma involved). And he just keeps getting better, like some kind of Russian Bob Dylan. Amazing stuff. IMHO, in the Russian scene, he is second only to this guy (poets take the crown).

It's available online.
Where online is another matter. Sometimes I can save a wallpaper/image and not use it as desktop wallpaper for months, by which time I can't remember where it came from.
If I can find the URL I'll post it.

Look for Giatrus-cr3w on deviantart. Much of it is nsfw.

Thanks - found it.
