But I e-mailed them to find out if there was a release date, and yes they implied release, at least for purchase, is in 2 weeks time. We'll wait and see. |

After looking at the changelog entries for June 5th, one can speculate that Slackware 11's main kernel will be 2.6.16.20. I know the entry is just saying that test26.s is based on 2.6.16.20, but it also looks is renaming test26.s to 2.6.16.20.
How's that for a rumor? :D |

It would be quite weird if he pushed Slack 11 without a call of the "This is almost it, please test" kind. |

Slack 11? Pfft. That's so next week. What about next year? Will it be Slack 11.1, or Slack 12?
Looking at Slack's recent history, we see that the version numbers follow those of gcc: Slack 8.0 & 8.1: gcc-2.95 Slack 9.0 & 9.1: gcc-3.2.x Slack 10.0, 10.1 & 10.2: gcc-3.3.x Slack 11.0: gcc-3.4.x Slack ?.0: gcc-4.?.x Now surely the version of Slack after 11.0, to be released in 2007 in all probability, will come with a version of gcc in the 4.x series, not the (by-then) antiquated 3.4.x series? So, my money's on Slack 11 being followed by Slack 12, making it the first since 4.0 to have no .1 or .2 releases. Let the speculation begin! :) |
captain chaos, speculation can be so much fun!
Maybe Moeen meant "we will have the Slack 11 release [date] within the next two weeks." ? |
Sorry guys, maybe it's 'cos I'm so new to slacking, but this is the earliest machine I've managed to get 10.2 running on.

Ah, sorry, we haven't discovered plastic here yet.
But I have upgraded. ;) http://www.meccano.us/difference_eng..._1/DEFront.jpg I still can't seem to find sprocket e5 though, must be under the cardboard box lining. |
a guy on an other forum recognized these lines in the sw-current changelog:

dang! I was gonna post that :). So we should see a release very soon :D

There is no way.
We just had over 20 updates today. Any OS that gets that many updates at one point is definately not ready for a stable release. I still think there is at least a week or two. |
