I'm using KDE 3.1 but there is a upper panel in the top of the monitor (like the gnome menu) and I do not know how to remove it.I have tried with the control center but it disappers for a second and then when i press apply it appears again.

It's supposed to be:

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

And also make sure you have commented or remove this line:

Option "Emulate3Buttons"

All the above is cAsE sEnSiTiVe!

Here's mine, it's working:
Code:
Section "InputDevice"

# Identifier and driver

    Identifier "Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
    Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
    Option "ZAxisMapping""4 5"
