You imagine the Slackware as something running your old i586 router? Looks like it's time to change your mind ... ;)

There are rumors that the 'young lady' in this video, as the 'mind' is a customized Slackware for Tile64 platform. Yup! Real-time Slackware for some MIPS with 64 cores! ;)

Look up and wonder: HRP-4C

There is no Slackware for MIPS that I know of.

Like I said, there is some rumors that the "operating system" of this dancing/singing gynoid is a in-house Slackware ported on Tile64 platform. Possibly, very customized. Let's say ... Driver for the right hand controller? :D

Also, considering that this walking/dancing/singing/talking/cooking? device which have a girl looking, is sell for $2,000,000 ... I don't exclude the idea that they (AIST, a japanese institute equivalent of DARPA) have resources to port and customize an entire operating system. ;)

So, maybe they used Slackware to leverage some cross-compiling to MIPS and port Linux to it (but it's a rumor).

Here's a real world Slackware application that I thought was pretty spectacular. Note that at the time of publication Slackware 3.0 was about 6 years old. Someone from NASA had told me they were doing Y2K audits on versions from around that time, and I've wondered if any old Slackware installations persist in space applications. Why upgrade unless you have to, right? :D
