Building 4.11 now.

The persistent scrollback history on virtual consoles option is a welcome addition as I've occasionally found I would have liked to have scrolled back after swapping to and fro, but I suppose it's usefulness depends on how much one lives outside of X11.

edit: Ah Nuts!.. It only works on VGA textmode consoles, not the framebuffer.

As previous new kernel series releases have proven, a patch will be needed for 4.11 for the NVIDIA driver as well. However, I have found out from a cursory search that such a patch involves modifying the NVIDIA license, and so the legality of this maneuver is dubious, at best. Think I'll hold off on building the new release, until a) NVIDIA releases a new driver, or b) a patch is released which doesn't touch the license (doubtful).

I think you are speaking about this patch (I'm using it at home).

There is now 4.4.67 - works fine, I had tested on slackware64-14.2 (and also tainted it with nvidia 340.102 legacy)

Oh, groovy. The kernel.org rss changed format slightly last week (was <guid> etc etc, now <guid isPermaLink="false">) so your kernalz will be done about five hours from now.

It's worth noting that the 4.10.x kernel series has been declared EOL, as of patchlevel 17. I'm running 4.11.2, and it seems to be running fine thus far.

Happy Slacking!

The 410.xx series was marked, EOL, sometime this morning.

Edit in: Oops, 1337_powerslacker beat me to it.
