THC Hydra

I have been trying to install THC Hydra 5.4 on my slackware 12.0 with no success. I installed libssh v0.11 and apr and apr -util but still get error. I followed this tutorial [MODERATED]

The error comes after I use make and the error is
Code:

hydra-svn.c:94: error: 'svn_client_ctx_t' has no member named 'config'
hydra-svn.c:94: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast
hydra-svn.c:103: error: 'apr_array_header_t' undeclared (first use in this function)
hydra-svn.c:103: error: 'providers' undeclared (first use in this function)
hydra-svn.c:104: warning: implicit declaration of function 'apr_array_make'
hydra-svn.c:109: error: too many arguments to function 'svn_client_get_simple_prompt_provider'
hydra-svn.c:110: warning: implicit declaration of function 'apr_array_push'
hydra-svn.c:113: error: too many arguments to function 'svn_auth_open'
hydra-svn.c:120: warning: implicit declaration of function 'svn_client_ls'
hydra-svn.c:123: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast
hydra-svn.c:125: warning: implicit declaration of function 'apr_pool_clear'
hydra-svn.c:126: warning: implicit declaration of function 'apr_pool_destroy'
hydra-svn.c:131: error: 'svn_error_t' has no member named 'apr_err'
hydra-svn.c:131: error: 'svn_error_t' has no member named 'message'
hydra-svn.c:134: error: 'svn_error_t' has no member named 'apr_err'
hydra-svn.c:140: error: 'svn_error_t' has no member named 'message'
make: *** [hydra-svn.o] Error 1

Can anyone help me install it or write slackware tutorial for it.

Thank you in advance

Have you read this?

Hmmm.... is this program a hacking tool as it states or actually a cracking tool?

I would have bet that

Like a hammer a pistol may be used for hammering nails. In this case the question is about application compilation (OK) not generic usage (borderline) or help with cracking (bad).

My apologies, I acknowledge the distinction.

I see your point there. I admit the topic made me uncomfortable.

The reason I need Hydra is because there is an event in one of the games I play and they are giving good items if you can find the password of 5 characters. So it is legal as I have permision from the game master and if anyone is interested in the event I will be happy to give all the info I have to him to try and get the passwords. I will be very greatful for all the help.

and to adriv
Yes I did that as well but still nothing.

Were there any errors listed when you ran the configure script (if any)?

No no errors when configured it.

Which version of subversion do you use?
At that site they speak of 1.5.2, while SW 12.1 ships with 1.4.6.
Maybe that's something to look at.

You want to c***k a password in a game event ?
Do you think you are trying to compile the good tool for that ?
I mean your game isn't going to use a specific network service like SSH, HTTP...for just handle a password feature in game event, is it ?
I would think it uses the same port as the game port for receiving remote key event, so unless your game is supported by Hydra, it is not the correct tool for that.
[edit]
Maybe I misunderstand, though (likely). Is it about a game played on a network ?

As I pointed out to those who felt slightly uneasy (and rightly so) with the OP in post #5: the OP is about compiling an application. Please consider helping out with usage a twilight zone thing. Straying into that area could well result in this thread being closed if cracking becomes the topic. Please think again if you would like to cause that to what in essence was a neutral thread.

I understand, sorry my bad
I just wanted to point out that he possibly tried to compile a program that will make no use for him
I admit I should not have posted in this thread, though

No problem. It's a thin line, really.
