Gentlemen!
Lets not bring this any further than this, in regards of language?

Both Alien BOB and igadoter have valid points, but IMHO (sadly) in the wrong place .

The TDE users are what matter here, let them (hopefully) try enjoy the swiftness of an used to be default DE.

The idea of sub-forum was a good one!

An dedicated Slackware for non-English (Russian?) could be useful and solve most (all?) of issues here mentioned?

From now on there is description of things which do not work or doing poor.

//
// редактор соединения / tdenetworkmanager.desktop
//

# I am skipping this part, it is about native tde networkmanger, I guess not much was changed since networkmanager in
# KDE 3, which was very bad

// "проблема лока сессии и разблокировки.jpg"
//

# Problems with session lock
Reads as
//
// problem with session lock and unlock
//

this crap (bug) is from very beginning, still not resolved: login in new session, with lock
of recent, when returning recent session can't be unlocked....only
ctrl+alt+backspace (killing X server), killing process - does not help # I have no idea what process to kill
Quote:
(Cannot unlock the session because the authentication system failed to work; you must kill kdesktop_lock)

+

[...]
+
# OP describes here actions which are causing kinda strange behavior
- let make autologin without password #I remember it was possible for KDE 3 session manager to allow user to start
# KDE-session without password
- start X server, login .... we want to start with other login, we leave session of the first login
- let login as another user, doing something, exiting, returning back
- again needed to do, but as third user (third login), leaving session
- and ...oops, there is no start screen (home screen), because automatically starts session of 2-nd login

//
// "my on top applet.jpg"

in 14.x release, TDE did not find panel applet, which correctly shows mounted disks (green icons)
for me, on standalone computer, this applet appears immediately after installation of KDE3, possible it "lives" there,
works very well on TDE (but I have version TDE 3.5.12)
where now to get it - I don't know, if someone will help with this - I will be grateful

additional weakness of 14.x release TDE, broke backward compatibility with KDE3, I can't add applet to panel for recoll

//
// OpenGL and nVidia - libraries
//

on Trinity website there is comment, about this
https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/How_...E_Core_Modules

because packages were build on Slackware-14.2, installed on virtualBox, no actions were taken,
for possible destruction coming from combination "OpenGL & NVidia" , but default there is no
proprietary drives for NVidia, open source drivers by default are installed (full install #for Slackware)

I described all IMO, .....# Say no need to translate, this could cause another 1000 + 1 posts about "rules"

Summary: it is clear for me now what OP did, OP compiled all TDE bundle from sources, however all was done on virtual machine. I have no idea VirtualBox can emulate graphic card with OpenGL. There also can appear some other troubles. It will be good to install this an give OP some feedback. Actually , TDE is as large as old KDE3.

I'd love to switch back to something like KDE3 (or 2,1,0, maybe, as others said KDE always progresively worsened,) but attempting to read the post translated sections, is TDE even that usable yet? What I recall was the last KDE3 was very stable, but TDE used an older KDE3 that had 1000+ bugs later KDE3 fixed, which TDE didn't refix, so was continually having errors, so I sadly switched to KDE4, now alienBOB's KDE5 (ok, I don't care ‘KDE5’ is not the official term, rather than KDE confusing users by calling it two or three or more terms at once.) I don't care if people make dual-language posts, but it's shown the rule is use English.

Let's not get into a ridiculous discussion that, as someone claimed above, if people don't learn Russian, the West will be defeated by Russia. Apart from it geographically partly being Asia, it's geographically partly Europe, and culturally that... now that's more off-topic, but in theory, there's fundamental similarity (i.e., mainly ‘Western’ as rational scientific,) but as others said, there's probably a forum to discuss POSIX OSes in Russian. I'm partly Slavic that grew up in the West, so I both see recent repolarization as ridiculous (not reflecting average people thankful for science,) and would learn European/Eurasian languages if I could, but currently don't really have time, nor to put the original link's text through a translator or read a long post cut up in sections, rather than someone just making a file/page appropriate for this forum... even if you're just linking, it's clear what the rules are. I don't care; do what you want, see what the administrators say, but don't expect people to be able to do extra work just to find out if TDE will even feel usable compared to KDE3.

I would've, then saw the post, it sounds still too buggy. If there's an update, I'm interested enough I would try a new description in a translater (for myself,) but as this is an English forum, I consider that the responsibility of the original poster: almost all international people would want you to take required responsibility (according to rule) to put it through yourself and then you only need post that here (with a note what translator you used, so people know you didn't do any wrong translation that may appear.)

Yes. I hope the TDE programmers do that.

(I hope discussion will remain on-topic, unlike parts of some earlier posts and some in between ours.)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/translator/ - have it on my phone, works better than most breathing translators at times.

igadotar - did you have to post all that after the discussion? Could have linked the text to pastebin or a similar service.

"The original and improved classic Amarok music player." - https://www.trinitydesktop.org/features.php

That must be the longest running default music player of any desktop or distribution.
