Hang Up!

When it happen, open a terminal and run ' top ' command, it will tell
you which process take all your CPU usage.

What is your kernel version ?

Try keefaz's suggestion. You might also try starting each of them from separate terminals and see if there are any error messages.

Did you try with and without your java yahoo domino game ? I would try to load fluxbox
or blackbox instead of kde to see if it makes a difference (before startx, do xwmconfig)

From the picture, I suspect java to eat too much resource, but I can't say, some tests have to be done.
