system freeze on shutdown, slack 11

hi there,

i'm using KDE on slackware 11 and i've changed my inittab so it boots directly into X
but, sometimes when i try to shutdown X stops so it goes back into console
and there it stops, it still says Starting X Window Manager...
(or something like that)
and it stays there
i've tried to press ctrl+alt+delete
then it says
INIT: Going to init 6 (or something like that
and on the end
System halted
and there is where it stops completly so i have to do manual shutdown...

edit: and one more, witch bugs me at startup
using ext3 FS and when i boot for the 37th time it says:
system not checked for 37 times, check forced
and then it starts cheking the can i change this to i don't know, maybe a 100 times?

System halted
This is normal behavior. If you want to change it, you must use an acpi capable kernel (like bareacpi.i), or you can compile your own kernel and add acpi support in it.
how can i change this to i don't know, maybe a 100 times?
You can change it if you want with
tune2fs -c 100
I suggest you to read the manpage of tune2fs for other options and what problems you may come into by using a very big nubmer of mounts.

this problem at shutdown doesn't allways apear
only a day or two per week
otherwise it shuts down normaly
you know, it stops the X serv and then goes to init 6(or 0, if i reboot or shutdown)
saving clock to local time(or whatever)
then it shuts down/reboots

but sometimes it halts when X serv stops untill i press ctrl+alt+delete
and then it says System halted, but it doesn't shutdown, i have to unplug it and take out the battery

and i've used huge26.s kernel from slackware 11
