Swaret, Now no more GUI :(

Anyone have any Idea why after I upgraded with swaret I am now using XF86Config instead of Xorg.conf ?? Now things are really screwed up and I dont have time to horse around to fix this. I loved swaret but now I am reconsidering my devotion.

What's the error you're having?
I guess you upgraded to Xorg 6.8.1 and your keyboard driver changed to kbd. So fireup a editor and edit xorg.conf and change Driver "Keyboard" to Driver "kbd"

I recall something about the 'version' having to being set on Swaret. When I installed it it came set for 9.1. I had to change it to 10.0. I updated before I did the reset and I noticed packages being 'downgraded' to an earlier version. After I changed my settings, it updated properly. Can't help you with a link but do a google search for the Swaret site. It's all explained there. Good luck.

Yea but Its more than just the keyboard, Xorg is not seeing my Nvidia driver the problem is that I wrote over my existing Xorg.conf and the stock driver is being used but I still get a cannot find Nvidia driver error even after running xorgconfig 2 times. I went through the xorg.conf file and dont see the nvidia driver anywhere. I even copied a working bone stock xorg.conf from my other slack system but that still does not work. I cannot post the file cuz I am posting from XP, yuk. and yes I set the version in swaret.conf back to 10, but only after running it with current this last time, but I have always had it set to current and did not have any problems.

BajaNick, so X works with generic nv drivers? Try reinstalling nvidia's one.

Ok got X to work again. It was the keyboard bug. All they need to do is change the K under driver to lower case and that bug is fixed, one letter, lol. I find it strange that X would not work cuz of a keyboard issue but does work even though there is that Nvidia driver problem. I lost my nvidia driver and my mouse wheel but at least Ive got X back, thanks for the help Everyone.
