Swaret and Xine

I've upgraded all of my packages with swaret but Xine is now broken. I've removed and reinstalled, but it is still broked.

How do I set swaret to install a Xine that works?

thanks

"I've upgraded all of my packages with swaret but Xine is now broken." Any specific error displayed? Try opening a console and typing xine.

Can start Xine from Fluxbox menu or from xterm, but when seleting clip to play, get a bunch of errors that such and such format isn't supported.

Whatever the last version I had did everything ok, and I want to install that package instead.

Does anyone know of a stable Xine package for Slackware that I can get via Swaret?

Here is the error message that I keep getting

Code:

There is no input plugin available to handle 'XK maybe MRL syntax is wrong or file/stream source doesn't exist

The specified file or mrl is not found.  Please check it twice (XK

Anyone knows what this means?

After I just updated with swaret my xine is also not working correctly, after using swaret, xine does not respond when you click on stop or any other controls. Sometimes it does other times it just keep running until the video ends.

Now that you mention, Xine has been working bad for me latetly so I'm using MPlayer now (but I'd like to keep using Xine) :/

what release of xine-lib or libxine are you using? I am using the one from Slackware current and it seems to be working fine.

gbonvehi 09-29-2004 02:36 AM

I'm using the one at current too, the problem I've is that when I select a file to play the first directory of the full path is taken wrong.
IE: I select /home/gbon/movie.avi it says that Xine can't open "!@T/gbon/movie.avi" the characters are not like that, are more weird including non printable characters that are shown as a square.

I've just tried with other directories like /mnt/cdrom and changing language to english, but it still refuses to read the first directory ok.

what version of swaret are you using? and did you change deproot to swaret.sf.net if you are using swaret 1.6.2 ?

I have the same problem. I can get videos to play if I open Xine try to load a video, if it fails close Xine and load it up again and repeat the steps. I normally have to repeat this about 3-4 times and then the video will play as normal. Its a very weird bug!
