I am trying to install swaret 1.2.3 and getting an error. Error: Installing swaret 1.2.3 to /usr/sbin/swaret... FAILED! Any ideas why and what can I do to get this installed

Doing it as root? You should. Perhaps an existing older version of swaret there?

No... I mean probably there is already a file called /usr/sbin/swaret and the installation scripts somehow couldn't delete this file. You should try manually deleting it (if it exists) before retrying the installation.

Nope there is no such file or directory

Inside the directory that was extacted is a usr/sbin/swaret should I just move the directory over

That fixed the issue. I moved all the files where they are suppose to be and I am now running the program. I have to be in the /sbin dir but that is ok. Thank you all for the help.
