It seems that I get a lot of pop-up error messages from kde. These messages can occur during the middle of using various applications, or when I close down any application.

For instance, last night I got several pop-ups regarding kppp. The application was still working, but kde told several times about errors. I also got a pop-up when I closed kppp. I looked at the pop-up's traceback tab and found that there was no traceback.

I wonder if there is something not quite right with kde, and maybe whatever is causing these pop-ups, is related to the firefox freezes.

As mentioned above, often these error messages are an annoyance, as the applications are still running without any problems that I can see.

Any thoughts?

well, for starters, what do these popups say?

can you narrow it down a little? only kppp?

"The application unknown (" pick an application ") crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT)"

I notice that I get the pop-up with kppp still working, but it disappears from the panel.

This seems to be more of a nuisance than a real problem.
