Suspending to RAM problems on 64x Slack 14.1

Hello!
I am currently using Slackware x64 system. Everything works just fine except suspending and hibernating. When using
Code:

pm-suspend
system suspends correctly, but when I am trying to wake up it just enters normal shutdown sequence after some time. Seems like BIOS acting.
Hibernation doesn't work too.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Usually it is a hardware driver; Graphics is common, as is wireless and USB (sometimes related).

You'll need to trawl through your logs and see go through a suspend line by line; then try and resume. Hopefully there will be clues.

Also, do look up your computer's model for the same problem - chances are someone else has had it. Resume problems are very common.

How new / what kind of system are you doing this on?

I have had some issues with very current laptops and the stable slackware suspending that were fixed in the unstable slackware release. Newer kernel there, etc.

I am currently using Linux 3.10.17 kernel and Slackware 14.1 x64.
My laptop uses Quanta JW6H motherboard and Insyde BIOS. It is very strange model of motherboard and I couldn't find info about it. Also Intel + Nvidia graphic cards.
I think hibernation/suspending problems are mostly because of exotic specification of the laptop.

While I hesitate to advise anyone new to slackware to install -current... it may be your best option to fix this. 14.1 is about a year old and in my exp has issues with optimus laptops. -current tho has been, for me at least, very stable and with bumblebee gives me nvidia optimus graphic support as well.

Maybe back up your files and give it a shot if you are feeling adventurous.
