Suspend runlevel?

Hi. When I try to suspend,my laptop hangs because the pcmcia card won't turn off. I narrowed this down to the fact that I need to do
Code:
ifconfig ath0 down
I was wondering what script/runlevel gets ran when slackware goes into suspend because I need to issue
the commands to bring the interface down on suspend and then up on resume. Thanks for your help.

I don't think there's such a thing.

On my laptop, I had a script that did this stuff and then put the laptop into suspend mode (echo -n "disk" >/sys/power/state). With the help of sudo and a desktop icon, every user could suspend the laptop properly with a click. That was with the kernel build-in suspend mode.

IIRC, with suspend2, there's a pre-suspend and a post-suspend script.

How do you trigger suspend your laptop, and are you using suspend or suspend2 (or anything else)?

Hi. I am triggering the suspend when my lid closes. My problem is just that I need to get the cardbus card to turn off with the suspend and not stay on.

That shouldn't work out of the box I guess... did you install anything, compile a kernel, change /etc/acpi/acpi_handler.sh, anything?

Hi. I compilied my own kernel using apm,so I don't use acpi at all. My apm kernel options are the same as the ones here.

So I assume that closing your lid triggers "apm -s" or "apm -S".
apmd seems to be able to call a script called "proxy" on apm events. See `man apmd` and "suspend", "standby" and "resume" events.
