suidperl: PL_op_mutex

After a LONG while of messing around, I could finally get suidperl to work(?) but when I do, I get the following error: suidperl: relocation error: suidperl: undefined symbol: PL_op_mutex. What can I do about this. I have Perl on my system. I had to download suidperl from and then convert it to .tgz because I am on a Slackware system and I couldn't find a Slackware package of it. Might this help? Please help me
