Stupid question....About libraries

I just installed libphysfs to run a native game. But when I try to run the game, I get
Code:
error while loading shared libraries: libphysfs-1.0.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Ideas?

If you did not install it as Slackware package then you should probably run 'ldconfig' as root (it doesn't hurt to do that in any event).

What directory was the library installed in? If it wasn't /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib then you will need to ensure that the directory is specified in /etc/ld.so.conf

'physfs-1.0.0' provides libphysfs-1.0.so.0 -> libphysfs-1.0.so.0.0.0

'physfs-1.1.1' provides libphysfs.so.1 -> libphysfs.so.1.1.1

'physfs-2.0.0' provides libphysfs.so.1 -> libphysfs.so.2.0.0

So try with a new link named libphysfs-1.0.so.1 for the one you
have, or install a different version.

I have had a few library errors like this one. The first thing I try is to copy the library with the name its looking for. So far, that's worked in every case except one. Probably ain't the right thing to do though.
