stuck at installing swaret...

hi i'm following shilo's guide on how to make slackware work i'm stuck at the installing swaret part. since swaret.org's website is download i went to sourceforge to dl the swaret-1.6.2-noarch-1.tgz.tar. now the problem is i dunno how to install this package. i tried tar -xvf the file, and it told me that things are extracted to places such as /usr/share/ , /usr/doc/ etc... and a directory called install at where the file is located. but i cant seem to be able to locate any files under /usr directory and the "doinst.sh" and "slackdesc" in the install directory dont seem to do anything. i tried installpkg on the file too, that didnt work eithere. Any help would be appreciated.

Haven't seen much on swaret lately. Slapt-get works about the same. Or just use ftp or wget.

I think slackpkg is part of the distro (in extras) and will assist you in updating. Remember no matter what you use, please read the changelogs and use your own brain. Otherwise you will be back wondering why your system is now borked.

Yeah, all you have to do is installpkg swaret-1.6.2-noarch-1.tgz.tar and you should be fine.

Cheers
