strange server shutdown


hi, slackware 11.0/2.4.33.3 router pc, runs 24/7

it just shutdown, message log had a mark then boot up messages when i restarted, i didnt see anything weird like forced fsck when i restarted, syslog/ups log didnt have anything, ups was running

power supply is a few months old, first time this has happened

i guess i'm asking is there any other log to check

Check /var/log/syslog. Are you sure that it wasn't forced shutdown by bios to prevent overheating?

hi Alien_Hominid, syslog was empty at the time, all thats there now is after the reboot, cpu and case run around 90 degrees fahrenheit, i check regularly, temperature in the room the pc is in has been hotter and no problems, thanks
