strange problem with rc.inet1 / eth0 config
Hi,
I got all my settings for ethernet filled in in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1. When I boot up my machine, and log in, an ifconfig doesnt list me anything about eth0, just the loopback device. So I noticed that rc.inet1 didn`t fire eth0 up. When I run /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 manually, everything works fine and eth0 is perfectly configured. Strange, eh? Well, I added a bunch of comments in rc.inet1 to see if it really doesn`t start at boot time, but it actually does, because it prints all the echo "bla" i inserted there, but doesn`t configure the network. only when I run the script manually. My question: WTF? -shad |
Run the netconfig command and see if this fixed your problem.

That fixed my problem.
