Strange boot messages on -current
I have just upgraded my system to -current and everything seems to be working fine. I have rebuilt the initrd and I'am running the generic-smp kernel. But, on bootup I get alot of messages such as:

I've never seen this before. I'am however using the madwifi driver for wireless and these messages seem to relate to that. Anyway, anyone know how to get rid of this?

well, the madwifi drivers seem not only to be the source of the problem but are also tainting the kernel, which means that *anything* could be happening. Blacklist all modules to do with madwifi (ath_hal etc.), reboot and see if the errors persist. If everything works, you have to do something about your madwifi config, most probably you're running an outdated version not built for that particular kernel.

How did you build madwifi?
You can get everything to build a Slackware package for -current
here . It must be built for the kernel you're running. If you change kernel versions, you must rebuild.
Also read
Alien Bob's Wiki for more good information ... yes, about Madwifi and WPA, among other things.

Well, I did rebuild after upgrading but it was done with a simple make && make install. However, turns out it was not the latest version. I will try building it using the slackbuild and see how that goes.
[EDIT] Worked flawlessly. Thanks alot! [/EDIT]
