I currently use the following script (using cygwin on windows) to log into KDE over SSH to a Fedora Core 2 box...that works fine but does NOT work on Slackware 10.
When I run it trying to log into my Slackware 10 box I get the following error

Just did that...still same error.
For the PATH variable to not be inherited is WEIRD since the export command is being used.

Ok. Fixed it. But I had to modify the PATH variable in the startkde script!!!! WTF!!!
Somebody explain this to me. It's as if somebody told me the law of gravity does not apply in all situations!
When you modified the profile script, did you make it in the same machine that has startkde script? It makes sense because the account where you're executing KDE has to have that var set.
