Why are you trying to open up a compressed file with mc? Can you open up any other files with mc?

I just press Enter on compressed file and you can see contents.
But I do not have any problems with another installation of Slackware.

Thanks

Rimas

Check to see if gzip is installed. Use:

find /var | grep gzip

If not, proceed to install it.

I do have the gzip installed.

Any other ideas?
