stalonetray integration into fluxbox, blackbox, AND kde (Slack14 32bit)

Hello I've compiled stalonetray through SlackBuilds.org's scripts, and I would like to use it as the main tray in blackbox and fluxbox, but then also use it in KDE as a system tray.

Another question here: Also how do I get the NetworkManager's tray app to load automatically in blackbox, fluxbox, and openbox? (it already does this for KDE and XFCE.) I want to be able to change networks without switching Desktops.

I've used stalonetray with FVWM. You will have to put the command which executes stalonetray into the configuration of your window manager (not in your .xinitrc). Currently I'm using "trayer" (but with Xmonad) which is a similar tool, trayer has to be called from the .xinitrc. But as far as I remember there's no Slackbuild for trayer available.

You should read the documentation of your windowmanager, i.e. Fluxbox and Blackbox. I remember that it was a little odd to get it working. I had to ask in FVWM's mailinglist back then.

Well I didn't have to really read much of your post to figure out the openbox part. Well the that tray got ugly and bland with only 1 app on a gray box so I just installed tint2 and am using that for my openbox systray. Now it's fluxbox and Blackbox's turns. I figured out already most of fluxbox's configuration files, but I can't find Blackbox's config files.

I even answered my own question about the networkmanager tray applet. It's now embedded in the tint2 panel's systray.

I may also test this with FVWM also.

You should post your configuration (the line with the stalonetrayconfiguration) from your configfiles, probably someone can help.

for which Window manager? I did manage to set up the networkmanager applet to work on fluxbox now. With Blackbox still can't find any config files.

EDIT: So now I got a comfortable setup on fluxbox and openbox, just to clarify.

Well, maybe some others want to know how to integrate stalonetray into Fluxbox and Blackbox, so you should share your solution(s) with the other users of this forum.

And if you've done this, please use the button "thread tools" on the top of the site and mark this thread as solved.

I still didn't get blackbox to work with stalonetray. I'm not using it right now in fluxbox or openbox, but I will set it up for them (again).

I will tell everyone how I did it though.

But the blackbox part still needs to be done, but it's 2/3 solved.

EDIT:
Fluxbox & stalonetray: stalonetray sticks on top of the panel at the bottom-right corner of the desktop.
Openbox & stalonetray: Fantastic! If it is set as a dockapp, you can use ObConf to have placed where you want it.
Blackbox & stalonetray: Is it even possible?
xfce4-panel, fbpanel, or tint2 & stalonetray: Not sure about xfce4-panel, BUT WILL NOT work on fbpanel and tint2
