squares instead of arabic characters on Slackware 10.1 with KDE 3.4

Hi,

Why does Slackware 10.1 show squares instead of arabic characters even after compiling the arabic package for KDE 3.4? Do I need to install more fonts?

Thanks,

Basel Mahdi
