Unhappy sounds problems in slack 9.1


i've got a SB live 5.1 card. the modules loaded and everything seems to work. but still i get no sound...:S does any1 know what the problem is?

Have you run alsaconf as root to set alsa up. Then run alsamixer, unmute sound.

are you using the emu10k1 driver and emu-tools?
bring up kmix and check the sliders, by default they are set real low, re-adjust and set a new default volume...........also do same with aumix, adjust sliders and re-set new default.............don't use alsa, or oss crap they are generic at best ....use the emu10k1 driver, get it at sourceforge site.

yo man, ok- the alsa stuff worked. i got sound now. but alsa uses the emu10k1 driver. what do you mean with i should download it?
