Soundcard "problems" with 9.1

Hello
I just installed 9.1 and it works fine ... the only problem I have is it loads lots of kernel modules for a "simple" soundcard. The soundcard is CMI8738. lsmod looks like this:

Code:
bash-2.05b# lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
snd-pcm-oss 37252 1
snd-mixer-oss 11992 1 [snd-pcm-oss]
lp 6752 0 (autoclean)
scanner 10488 0 (unused)
parport_pc 14724 1
parport 23264 1 [lp parport_pc]
uhci 24496 0 (unused)
usbcore 58400 1 [scanner uhci]
8139too 15240 1
mii 2304 0 [8139too]
crc32 2880 0 [8139too]
snd-cmipci 17760 2
snd-pcm 55904 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-cmipci]
snd-page-alloc 6004 0 [snd-pcm]
snd-opl3-lib 5764 0 [snd-cmipci]
snd-hwdep 4672 0 [snd-opl3-lib]
snd-timer 13252 0 [snd-pcm snd-opl3-lib]
snd-mpu401-uart 3136 0 [snd-cmipci]
snd-rawmidi 12512 0 [snd-mpu401-uart]
snd-seq-device 3920 0 [snd-opl3-lib snd-rawmidi]
snd 27460 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-cmipci snd-pcm snd-opl3-lib snd-hwdep snd-timer snd-mpu401-uart snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device]
soundcore 3332 7 [snd]
I had RedHat 9.0 installed on my box and the only sound module loaded was cmipci. I'm a little and want to know what can I do.

Thanks.

9.1 ships with ALSA. Read more at http://www.alsa-project.org/

I know that. What I don't know is how to get rid of those loaded modules and load just the appropriate one.

Alsa loads more modules then oss. You'll need them all for your soundcard to work properly with midi and oss-emulation etc. Atleast, that what I think.. I can't say I'm sure though
