sound juicer not recognizing cdrom

Hi guys,

I just upgraded my dropline gnome and in testing the new cdripper have found that it doesn't work. On startup it craps out with "unable to find cdrom" And I can't seem to get into a configure as the program dies right afterwards and there's no .config that I can find.

My cdrom works flawlessly in GRIP and cdrecord. I'm running scsi emulation. Other than that I don't know what to say. It looks like a nice program though.

Any ideas?

D

have you got your cdrom symlinked to /dev/cdrom?

it could be that grip uses the /dev/hdX

I'll try it when I get home. That sounds like a reasonable problem though... I think I might have made my mnt/cdrom to go directly to scd0, so I may have forgotten to link the /dev/cdrom.

Ok I tried it and I did have cdrom linked properly... And then I tried it from root and it works fine from root. So now I'm really confused. I can run grip just fine from a user account, but not sound-juicer. wierd.
